2016/2017 in ReviewDecember 14th, 2017, 1:29 pm
Friends, Nerds, Countrymen, lend me your ears.
I know the last couple weeks and months have been crazy. We got a new site on super-short notice, had to work on things there with very little of our props, adjust to the new layout, make the adjustment to somewhat more primitive bathroom and sleeping facilities, and all of that is just part of an extended adjustment process that started in September of 2016 when we departed Vanderkamp for the last time. We've done forum upgrades and backend database work, changed hosting providers, and set up a new Wiki. We've had to adjust to a new town with a crazy mind-reading artifact, an actual organizational structure in-game, with laws and such, and on top of all that, I'm making posts about the game running out of money, feeding the fires of argument about The Helix, and seemingly-endless staff changes.
Some of you are getting anxious just reading that paragraph.
Folks, I'd like you to all take a step back, a deep breath, and smile. We've weathered the storm. The worst is behind us. And the future is bright.
We've got a new site with owners that love us. Our staff turnover is largely done, and we've given some veterans who have been serving the better part of a decade a long-awaited and much-deserved rest, while bringing in the best the game has to offer to fill their shoes. Our prop shed is in place and full of all our fun stuff, we've begun to turn the cabins into inns, and – thanks to your generosity – we have enough money to get us through to Junebilee and the fundraiser auction. We have plans to address shift balance issues, redecorate the Bazaar, introduce new monsters, have an in-character feast, do a Chinese auction in February, start working on an online waiver and pre-reg system…
And, through it all, attendance has broken records.
I can't thank you all enough. 2018 will be fantastic at Kingdoms of Novitas.
Dave
